Crochet Advent Calendar 2025 List

Welcome Notes

Welcome to the 2025 Crocheted Holiday Baubles Advent Calendar.

Each day in December leading up to Christmas, we will be creating decorations that you can hang on your tree, add to a present, or use to decorate a wreath. In your Advent Kit you will find 24 numbered boxes and four balls of Cascade Anthem yarn in the colours Cactus, Maroon, Cream and Toasted Coconut. Each box contains a plastic ornament blank that you will cover with that days pattern. While I have used certain colours to create the sample baubles, feel free to choose whatever colour you like each day.

On this page you will find the pattern instructions and a link to a video walking you through how to make that days bauble. Patterns will be released here a few days at a time so you can choose to work ahead a little, or stick to only opening one box a day.

Additional Supplies needed:
5.00mm crochet hook (if you are a tight crocheter you may need to use a larger hook, like a 5.5mm - these patterns are designed to fit snuggly on the plastic forms but if you have trouble inserting your bauble when the pattern calls for it, try again with a larger hook size.)
stitch markers
scissors
yarn needle
ribbon or additional decorations as desired

Most of the bauble patterns are worked in the round and start with a magic ring. If you are not familiar with how to make a Magic Ring, you can access my video tutorial in the link below

Let’s make a more delicate pattern today. This pattern uses V-Stitches to create a lacy pattern. Fill your ball with glitter or fake snow for a peek-a-boo bit of sparkle.

Today’s pattern reminded me of the viral coats and vests that my girls all wanted in high school. The good ol’ Puff Stitch is a classic so let’s tackle it today.

This is a fun stitch pattern that results in a criss-cross square pattern. It is similar to one called the Drunken Granny, hence the fun name. If you are looking for other patterns using this stitch, it is actually called the SideSaddle stitch. Enjoy!

There are many ways to tackle colour work and today we will take a look at overlay mosaic crochet. This involves changing colour each row and only working with one colour at a time. The pattern is formed by placing stitches down over the row you've already worked.

Cable work in crochet can be a bit tricky but the results are striking and make it all worthwhile. The Celtic Weave stitch is a type of cable work and lends itself to being worked in the round quite nicely.

Once again the humble double crochet shines by simply changing where you place it. Alternating front post and back post double crochet stitches turn into - the Basket Weave. For this pattern, the humble double crochet gets a glow up with some extra steps. These give it a tilt that creates a fun zig zag pattern.

The Suzette stitch is the very first stitch combination I learned and one I return to over and over when I need to decompress. It's simple and yet, seeing it on the bauble, gives a lovely texture and movement.
