Taking a Look Back at February - What did I Actually Finish Last Month?

Welcome to March everyone!

In my part of the world, there is a definite feel of approaching spring in the air. I took my dog for a walk today and the sun was shining with some real strength. It isn't warm yet, but you just know the potential is there. And boy do I love that!

The return of the sun gives me energy which quite frankly, I'm in need of. After a month of trying to work through my many, many WIPs while keeping the business running, and managing to find things to feed my family, a little boost is appreciated.

Did you play along with me last month for Finish It February? I'd love to hear what you crossed off your WIP list. Please add a comment and let me know. If you've been following along with my journey then you know I had a fairly extensive list of WIPs to finish. I was confident that I would not finish them all and, spoiler alert, I did not! LOL

Here's a closer look at my final Finish It February Fun Chart

I've added notes to some of these because, even though they may have a giant X through them, I did touch them all and make assessments on how I want to proceed. Here's a video I filmed with more explanation.

What do you think? Overall, that was a productive month, right?

  • 4 projects completed as per my expectations

  • 2 projects that can be completed in a matter of days now

  • 2 projects that are at least half finished

  • 3 projects that I assessed and moved into time out or down the priority list

  • and the rest weren't even looked at and that's okay too

Where do we go from here?

Like I hinted at earlier, my hands and my brain need a tiny break. But ... seeing as this is my business and I'd really like to be able to support myself with this, I can't truly take a break.

A lot of the items on my Finish It February chart were personal items and it was great fun to work on them this past month. But my focus needs to shift in the lead up to Fibres West in less than 3 weeks. One of the projects I was working on is my Christmas Plaid Blanket. I want to run this as a class in the Fall, but I really want to have kits ready to sell at Fibres West so that will be my primary focus until it's finished. Once that is done I can turn my attention to that summer cardigan which I'd love to have ready to teach by late spring.

So you see, it's never ending!

And I wouldn't have it any other way!

Now that we are in March, I'm having some fun on my Instagram (and Facebook) page ... I'm calling it March Mayhem and I hope you tune in. I'll be sharing all the different yarns in my online shop, plus projects I've made with them (or projects I want to make). It's going to be such a good time and I'd love for you to add your comments sharing anything you've made with the featured yarn for that day.

See you there!
