Granny squares come in all shape, sizes, and patterns. This gorgeous blanket by Nautikrall uses a sunburst patterned granny square and the join-as-you-go method to create something both beautiful and simple. Knowing how to make a magic ring will be helpful but not necessary as we will teach you. Understanding basic granny square construction will also be helpful. The pattern is for a baby blanket (approximately 32" x 45" big) but can easily be made as big as you want simply by continuing to crochet and join the Sunburst squares. There are two different samples in the classroom so take a look at both before deciding how you want your blanket to look. Class Schedule: There will be three class times (as detailed below): - April 14 - In the first class you will learn how to make the squares as well as the join-as-you-go (JAYG) method - April 21 - This will be mostly a working night but refresher on both the pattern and the JAYG method will be offered. THERE IS NO CLASS ON APRIL 28TH - use this time to finish your blanket to the size you want so you're ready to put on the border in our last class. - May 5 - In the final class time, we will learn the pom pom border. If you can come to class with 2 rounds of a single crochet border (as per the pattern instructions) this will allow for more time to teach the pom pom border (an optional addition). There are three different options for yarn for this class. All yardages are based on the pattern which is for a baby blanket. If you'd like to make a larger blanket, please talk to Alison. 1 - Anthem in two colours (5 balls of Colour A and 4 balls of Colour B) 2 - Cozy Love Aran (7 balls) plus one ball of Anthem in a coordinating colour for the border. This is a new yarn to the shop and comes in 10 different variegated colour options. 3 - Shop your stash and provide your own yarn. **If you provide your own yarn it is YOUR responsibility to make sure you have enough for the entire project. Kim & Alison can help you with the pattern/construction only. Other required supplies: - the pattern from Nautikrall (links to purchase this will be emailed to you) - a 5.00mm hook (or size needed to achieve the drape you want) - scissors - a yarn needle to weave in your ends

Cancellation Policy
We understand that life happens and sometimes you can't make it to class. Our classes are very popular and our instructors have already put in many hours of their time prepping each class before we even post them for registration. To respect their time, expertise, and efforts, we ask if you must cancel your entire class registration that you do so at your earliest convenience. Any cancellation requests that are made less than 24 hours before the start of the first class in a series of classes, or after a course has started, or within 24 hours of a workshop/event will not be granted. Cancellation requests made with more than 24 hours notice of the start of the class or event will be processed at our earliest convenience less a 10% admin fee. If you have registered for a course and find you need to miss one or more of the class dates, alternate arrangements can be made to allow you to catch up. These may include but are not restricted to: emailed course materials like hand outs or instructional videos; one-on-one private instruction time to be arranged between you and the instructor (should the instructor offer such services); or free entry to a drop-in session should any happen to fall withing the scope of the class timeline.
