Service Description

Corner to Corner blankets use simple stitches which make them perfect for beginners. They also work up reasonably quickly which makes them much loved with the more advanced crocheters too. In this class, Kim from Frog and Stitch will teach you the C2C stitch pattern for this particular blanket by having you work up a swatch in the first class. Since you do not work in rows or rounds. getting the hang of how you build up your blanket from one corner to the opposite one can be a bit mind bending at first. Once you "get it" the rest of the blanket comes easily. For this swatch, if you want to turn it into a washcloth please bring or buy some 100% cotton yarn. We are structuring this class a bit differently and offering an option to supply your own yarn for a reduced class fee of $100. The sample blanket is 37"x36" before the border and was made with 7 and a bit balls of Cascade Anthem yarn (approx 1300 yds) and a 5.00mm crochet hook. A blanket measuring 50"x60" would need 2600 yds of yarn. If you would like to order extra yarn please email me and I will send you a special coupon code - good for class yarn only. If you buy the FULL PACKAGE your $145.00 fee includes: - 8 balls of Anthem Worsted Weight yarn in the colour of your choice. Please visit https://www.estelleyarns.com/items/1963 to see all the colours available and state your colour choice in the Booking Form. (** Please note, if you are registering within 7 days of the start of class, you MUST order from my in-stock yarn as there will not be enough time to get new yarn before class begins. If I do not have 8 balls in your chosen colour, I will order the remaining balls you need so you can finish your blanket. https://www.knotjustyarn.ca/search?q=anthem) ALL PACKAGES INCLUDE: - written instructions - video links - FREE admission to any WIP nights held during the running of the class (usually a $5/night fee) Other materials you need to make this blanket: - 5.00mm crochet hook (or whatever size your yarn calls for or gives you the tension and drape you desire. - scissors - yarn needle Class structure: Week One (FEB 13) - introduction to the pattern by making a swatch/wash cloth. This teaches you how to start, how to increase, and how to decrease the pattern. Week two (FEB 27) - a working week or a time to ask questions. For those that are ready, we will go over border options. Week Three (MARCH 13) - working time if needed or time to show off your finished blanket and celebrate a job well done.
