Service Description

Knitters are pretty famous for knitting up pair after pair of socks with gorgeous sock yarn. Many crocheters get intimidated by sock yarn because of how fine it is, and the size of hook you need to use with it. But it's nothing scary! Promise! Kim loves a chunky yarn and has shunned finer yarns for years, but thanks to continued exposure to all the beautiful different sock yarns in the Knot Just Yarn inventory, she's starting to change her tune. While working with a sock (also called fingering) weight yarn can take some getting used to, the drape you get in garments, and the fine detail you can achieve make using a small hook worth it. We will be working with Evolution Silk Sock yarn - a beautiful blend of cotton, superwash merino wool, silk, and nylon. You should be able to get the pair from one ball of yarn, however if you want to make a men's size sock or larger women's sizes, you may need to purchase an extra ball of yarn. Alison can help you with that. Top Tip: if you are "of a certain age" we recommend working in a brightly lit room. We do our best in the classroom but the use of a neck light to help you see your small stitches may come in handy. Class Schedule: We have given plenty of time to work up certain sections of this pattern as the smaller stitches may take you longer than you are used to. We have a one week break after Class #1, and two weeks after class #2 Class #1 - Learn the cuff and body pattern Class #2 - Learn the heel section. During the 2 week break, work the foot Class #3 - Learn how to make the toe box and finish off. Instructor: Kim Yoshihara What your class fee includes: - 1 ball of Evolution Silk sock Yarn SEE ATTACHED IMAGES FOR AVAILABLE COLOURS. - Video tutorial - Printed pattern Other required supplies: - 3.00mm crochet hook (or size needed to reach gauge) - scissors - a yarn needle to weave in your ends
