Service Description

Have you always wanted to learn how to crochet but didn't know where to start? Perhaps you used to crochet but have forgotten the difference between a single and a double crochet? We can help! Kim and Alison have helped dozens of beginners learn to crochet and they can help you! In this four-week course you will be introduced to the basics in a systematic way which allows you to steadily build on your skills. You will create swatches, following simple written instructions, and keep them in a folder for easy reference. Each week you will also receive video tutorials via email to help you as you practice between lessons. Who can sign up for this class series? Anyone 12 years old and older. (**All minors must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult who is also registered, unless a prior relationship with either Alison or Kim exists and they are aware of your intention to register your child in this class.) What is included in your registration fee? - four 2.5-hour sessions at our Private Classroom - free entry to any drop-in sessions planned during the running of the class series (unless it is a special WIP night with a Guest) - All printed class materials in a folder - Emailed instructional videos following each class - One ball of Sudz 200 yarn in a colour of your choosing (instructions for choosing your colour will be emailed to you) - One crochet hook (size 5.0mm) - Three stitch markers - One yarn needle Extras you may want to bring: - scissors - a pen for notes What you will learn: You will start by learning how to hold your hook and yarn and how to start a project with a slip knot and a chain. Then over the course of the 4 weeks we introduce you to four basic stitches - the single crochet, the half-double crochet, the double crochet, and the slip stitch. At the end of the third week we will start our final project - a pouch to hold your crochet hooks and other tools. You will leave the class with a folder full of swatches you crocheted, your tool kit pouch, and a new-found confidence in your ability to crochet!

Upcoming Sessions

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens and sometimes you can't make it to class. Our classes are very popular and our instructors have already put in many hours of their time prepping each class before we even post them for registration. To respect their time, expertise, and efforts, we ask if you must cancel your entire class registration that you do so at your earliest convenience. Any cancellation requests that are made less than 24 hours before the start of the first class in a series of classes, or after a course has started, or within 24 hours of a workshop/event will not be granted. Cancellation requests made with more than 24 hours notice of the start of the class or event will be processed at our earliest convenience less a 10% admin fee. If you have registered for a course and find you need to miss one or more of the class dates, alternate arrangements can be made to allow you to catch up. These may include but are not restricted to: emailed course materials like hand outs or instructional videos; one-on-one private instruction time to be arranged between you and the instructor (should the instructor offer such services); or free entry to a drop-in session should any happen to fall withing the scope of the class timeline.
