Looking for a cute and approachable knitting project? These charming boot toppers are a great way to add a cozy, personalized flair to all kinds of boots. Perfect for beginners and beyond, this class introduces you to a variety of foundational knitting techniques. You’ll learn how to knit in the round and try your hand at a simple yet eye-catching lace pattern—all while working with soft, worsted-weight yarn that knits up quickly and beautifully. It’s a satisfying project that builds your confidence and leaves you with a wearable, giftable accessory. If you’re dreaming of future projects like socks, sweaters, or stuffed animals, this class is the perfect stepping stone to help you get there. Techniques covered include: Long tail cast on Knitting in the round Yarn Over Knit Two Together (k2tog) Slip-Slip-Knit (SSK) Cable 6 Back (C6B) Cable 6 Front (C6F) A modified version of Jenny’s surprisingly stretchy bind off (JSSBO) We’ll swatch each stitch as we go—so if you’ve already taken Knitting 2.0, consider the swatches a helpful (and optional) refresher. If you’re coming from Beginner’s Knitting, don’t worry! The swatches will give you the opportunity to learn and practice new stitches before we use them in the project. What's included in your Class Fee: - Workbook with full written instructions - One Skein Estelle Worsted (if you have a wool allergy please contact us for non-wool alternatives) Please see available colours in the photos. - tutorial videos emailed after each class - FREE entry into any WIP (Work in Progress) night happening during the running of the class Other Required Supplies: - Circular Knitting Needles - size 7, 4.50MM, with a long loop - a cable needle - stitch markers - darning needle - scissors. Please bring some scraps of worsted weight yarn and size 8 needles) for making your practice swatches. (if you have some anthem yarn leftovers from beginners knitting, perfect! You will only need enough for 4 swatches) Day 1: Learn the long tail cast on. Learn to knit in the round. Work the ribbing. Day 2: Learn on a swatch: yarn over and k2tog Learn on a swatch: k2tog and ssk Work pattern rows 1 to 18. Day 3: Learn on a swatch: C6F and C6B Knit pattern rows 19-22, then do the pattern repeat. Day 4: Finish the pattern repeat Make the other side’s ribbing. Learn a modified SSBO to bind it off. Start your second boot topper if you have extra time.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens and sometimes you can't make it to class. Our classes are very popular and our instructors have already put in many hours of their time prepping each class before we even post them for registration. To respect their time, expertise, and efforts, we ask if you must cancel your entire class registration that you do so at your earliest convenience. Any cancellation requests that are made less than 24 hours before the start of the first class in a series of classes, or after a course has started, or within 24 hours of a workshop/event will not be granted. Cancellation requests made with more than 24 hours notice of the start of the class or event will be processed at our earliest convenience less a 10% admin fee. If you have registered for a course and find you need to miss one or more of the class dates, alternate arrangements can be made to allow you to catch up. These may include but are not restricted to: emailed course materials like hand outs or instructional videos; one-on-one private instruction time to be arranged between you and the instructor (should the instructor offer such services); or free entry to a drop-in session should any happen to fall withing the scope of the class timeline.
