Service Description

The Sophie Scarf has been going viral, with over 45,000 knitters sharing their finished scarves on Ravelry. It's time to see what all the fuss is about! This class will be different in that both knitters AND crocheters will have a chance to make one of these cute scarfs. Knitters will make the genuine article - first designed by Petite Knits. Crocheters will make a scarf inspired by the iconic Sophie Scarf - the My Scarf by Lilla Björn Crochet Design. Both patterns come in a small, neckerchief size, as well as a larger, coat scarf size. The yarn supplied will easily make either size. Please read the specs for your craft carefully. KNITTERS Perfect for beginners, this simple, relaxing project is worked flat and is a great way to practice your increases and decreases. You’ll also learn the i-cord edging technique, which uses slipped stitches to create a neat, professional-looking edge. Knitters - you will be provided with one ball of Painted Power DK in the colour of your choice (see attached images to choose your colour). Knitters - you need to purchase the pattern here https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/sophie-scarf-2 Knitters - you will also need 3.5mm (or US size 4) needles - straight or circular, it doesn't matter. CROCHETERS This is the perfect project to introduce yourself to sock yarn. This fine yarn can be tricky for those used to working with worsted weight and bulky weight yarns. The drape you get from this type of yarn is incredible and worth all the effort! Crocheters - you will be provided one ball of Estelle Evolution Silk Sock yarn in the colour of your choice (see attached images to choose your colour). Crocheters - you need to purchase the pattern here https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/my-scarf Crocheters - you will also need a 3.5mm hook Everyone will also need scissors and a yarn needle, plus a tape measure will help determine your finished size. If you have a small kitchen scale you can also use that to determine when you start your decreases but that is optional and we have one in the classroom you can use. Class Schedule (applies to both knitters and crocheters): April 13 - learn the increase pattern April 20 - working week. No new skills will be taught, just come and work and get help if needed. (if you are ready for the decreases we can teach you one on one) April 27 - learn the decrease pattern

We understand that life happens and sometimes you can't make it to class. Our classes are very popular and our instructors have already put in many hours of their time prepping each class before we even post them for registration. To respect their time, expertise, and efforts, we ask if you must cancel your entire class registration that you do so at your earliest convenience. Any cancellation requests that are made less than 24 hours before the start of the first class in a series of classes, or after a course has started, or within 24 hours of a workshop/event will not be granted. Cancellation requests made with more than 24 hours notice of the start of the class or event will be processed at our earliest convenience less a 10% admin fee. If you have registered for a course and find you need to miss one or more of the class dates, alternate arrangements can be made to allow you to catch up.
