Service Description

Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to dust off the knitting needles and refresh your memory, this class will help you master the basics and build confidence with every stitch. Fiona’s teaching approach focuses on hands-on exercises and repetition. She uses a mixture of media presentations and individual demonstrations to ensure that every participant is following along as we progress through each skill. This tried-and-tested knitting course helps build muscle memory and teaches the foundational skills needed to get you started on your knitting journey. Who can sign up for this class series? Anyone 12 years old and older. (All minors must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult who is also registered.) What is included in your registration fee? - four 2.5-hour sessions at our Private Classroom **PLEASE NOTE there is no class on Easter Monday, April 21st** - free entry to any drop-in sessions planned during the running of the class series (Washcloth Wednesdays and any WIP night with a special guest excluded) - All printed class materials in a folder - Emailed instructional videos following each class - One ball of Anthem worsted yarn 3.5oz in a colour of your choosing (instructions for choosing your colour will be emailed to you) - One pair of knitting needles (size 5.0mm) - One yarn needle Extras you may want to bring: - scissors - a pen for notes What you will learn: All the basic knitting techniques will be covered: how to cast on stitches, how to make a knit stitch and purl stitch, and how to bind off your stitches. Both English style knitting and Continental style knitting techniques will be covered so that participants can experiment and hold their work in the way they feel most comfortable. We will work on practice swatches every week which you can keep neatly organised in your folder for future reference, and by the end of the final class you will have made your first knitting project- a stylish ribbed headband with a chic front twist. Cancellation Policy

We understand that life happens and sometimes you can't make it to class. Our classes are very popular and our instructors have already put in many hours of their time prepping each class before we even post them for registration. To respect their time, expertise, and efforts, we ask if you must cancel your entire class registration that you do so at your earliest convenience. Any cancellation requests that are made less than 24 hours before the start of the first class in a series of classes, or after a course has started, or within 24 hours of a workshop/event will not be granted. Cancellation requests made with more than 24 hours notice of the start of the class or event will be processed at our earliest convenience less a 10% admin fee. If you have registered for a course and find you need to miss one or more of the class dates, alternate arrangements can be made to allow you to catch up. These may include but are not restricted to: emailed course materials like hand outs or instructional videos; one-on-one private instruction time to be arranged between you and the instructor (should the instructor offer such services); or free entry to a drop-in session should any happen to fall withing the scope of the class timeline.
