Service Description
This timeless cable hat pattern is perfect for those last-minute holiday gifts! It’s simple and straightforward. We knit it flat and then sew up one seam at the end. Using bulky yarn means it works up fast, so you can have a cozy handmade hat, ready in no time. I wrote this pattern specially for the people who wanted a break from magic-loop and making things in the round. It uses one cable stitch and some decreases at the top for shaping, but otherwise it's all knits and purls- something a little more relaxing to work around the fireplace on rainy days. You can choose to just make the classic cabled hat or "hold your yarn double" with a strand of sparkle thread to make it extra special! Difficulty Level: If you know how to knit and purl, you're ready to go! I'll teach you the rest of the skills in class. What's included: - 1 Skein of Hue & Me bulky yarn by Lion Brand (please choose your colour in the registration form - see attached class images) - The hat knitting pattern - Video tutorials: video demonstration for any stitch other than a knit or purl, and a video knit-along that shows each row. - Three in-person classes (2.5 hours each) where you can get hands on help or simply enjoy working together with other knitters. - Free access to any WIP night that falls during your class period Supplies Required (not included): - Optional: 1 cone of sparkle thread - Optional: 1 faux fur pom pom - Two sizes of knitting needles: (You can use straight needles or a circular knitting needle.) Size US9 (5.5mm) and Size US10.5 (6.5mm) - Cable knitting needle - 6 Locking stitch markers - Yarn needle - Scissors Fiona used Hue and Me in Iris held with Make it Blumchen in Lilac plus one of the Snap On Pom Poms from the shop. Cable needles will also be made available for purchase (at time of publishing this I am out of stock). The same goes for the knitting needles. Cancellation Policy
We understand that life happens and sometimes you can't make it to class. Our classes are very popular and our instructors have already put in many hours of their time prepping each class before we even post them for registration. To respect their time, expertise, and efforts, we ask if you must cancel your entire class registration that you do so at your earliest convenience. Any cancellation requests that are made less than 24 hours before the start of the first class in a series of classes, or after a course has started, or within 24 hours of a workshop/event will not be granted. Cancellation requests made with more than 24 hours notice of the start of the class or event will be processed at our earliest convenience less a 10% admin fee. If you have registered for a course and find you need to miss one or more of the class dates, alternate arrangements can be made to allow you to catch up. These may include but are not restricted to: emailed course materials like hand outs or instructional videos; one-on-one private instruction time to be arranged between you and the instructor (should the instructor offer such services); or free entry to a drop-in session should any happen to fall withing the scope of the class timeline.
